The Management Information System Department was founded in 1975 as a research and educational entity within the UTA, Bydgoszcz. It focuses on application of IT technology in management in farms, agricultural enterprises, and food processing organisations and profit non-food organisations, as well. Since the beginning of its activities the Department has been strongly connected to business organisations designing and implementing the newest IT solutions in enterprises of different branches to support decision making. Since 1989, the department evolved towards the development of research projects for the modernisation of the agri-food sector.
